# Align and Translate?

Sort for my bad English !!! I want to now how some time is “align” and some times is “transtlate” ???  
Some times Align is not visible and I must use Translate"…  
Thank you for your help.

Hi Henri,  
[Translate](https://support.shapr3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001417913-How-do-I-translate-objects-) and [Align](https://support.shapr3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016919159-How-do-I-align-objects-) are different tools, you can find both of them in the Transform menu.

If you miss them from the [Adaptive UI](https://support.shapr3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021170500-Adaptive-user-interface), please note that the tools shown there are filtered based on your selection. If there is an element or a set of elements in the selection that the Align tool cannot be applied on, it will not be shown.
