# Align hole with sketch

Coming from a history based cad system i am used to altering a sketch and the feature created from the sketch would automatically update, can you edit a sketch used to for example create a hole then align the 3d feature (hole) with the modified sketch tried using align but it moves the entire body, translate seems to work, looks like it snaps to the sketch, but can’t find any examples of this I know itd not the way you are supposed to do it but I would like the ability to accurately reposition / modify a hole position preferably to a 2d sketch

Hello @Paulmac66! It is possible to align bodies and also faces to sketch elements. For example if there is a hole, with the Translate tool it can be aligned to other sketch elements like in the video below:
