# Can’t Extrude from plane under angle

Fig A is where I am trying to get to by watching that tutorial.  
Fig B is what’s really happening - can’t extrude the way it’s shown in the tutorial.  
Why is it doing that?

I had that exact same issue when I did the tutorial in late 2021. I just assumed I’d done something wrong and gave up on it and did a different tutorial.

I watched that tutorial 4 times and I am sure I did everything right but it’s giving me a completely different result. Is there a way to circumvent that or fix it?

Click on the icon next to the value (-3 in your case), it will give you options to extrude. By default it’s Subtract, but you can create new body, union etc.

Yes you are right! It worked with Union, I didn’t think to click on that icon.
