# Cannot rotate edge. Face is rotating instead

Hi,

I’m having an issue when trying to rotate an edge around an axis.  
It seems to be wanting to rotate the whole face instead.  
I’m, of course, making sure that I’m selecting only the edge and not the face.  
I’ve tried moving the axis further away to avoid it sitting too close to the selected edge but it’s not making any difference. Help!!

Can I ask what result you’re expecting from that operation?

Then just select bottom face instead of edge.
