# Cannot select negatively extruded faces

Hi, new to Shapr3D! I’m running into an issue when I negatively extrude into an object. It appears as if the sketches remain on the same plane and I can no longer select the extruded faces because the “sketches” are in the way. When I try to delete the phantom floating faces it also deletes the physical extruded faces.

Open the Items sidebar then hide the sketch that is in the way. When you delete a sketch, bodies made from that sketch will also be deleted. Generally it is better to hide than delete your sketches.
