# Can't create linked projection

I’m trying to project an edge of a rectangle (effectively, mounted on a “wall”) down to a plane on my floor. I want it to be Linked, so when the rectangle is resized, that resizing is reflected in the edge projected onto the floor.

But I can’t get the “Linked” checkbox to work. (I click it ON; it jumps back to OFF.)

What are the criteria for getting that Linked checkbox to work?

**What message does it show in the top middle of the screen?**

To link anything, you must ensure that the sketch you’re linking _from_ is **below** the object you’re trying to link _to_ in the action list.
