# Color and hatch variation in sections

**The problem that this feature will solve:**

Boundaries between mating parts cannot be seen in sectioned 3d modelling view. There is no differentiation of parts when viewed in section in the modelling environment

**Brief description of the outcomes that you expect from this feature:**

_this feature will allow clear viewing of the clearances and clashes between bodies when viewed in section views and guide the design of correctly fitting parts._

**What can’t you achieve without this feature?**

_designing parts to mate and clear each other as appropriate is difficult without colouring each sectioned part with the part color and/or varying the hatch line direction and density for each sliced part. The boundaryof each part is not visible_
