I want to use a geometric system to make surface patterns. The system is a collection of overlapping lines:

I want to be able to select the outlines of the closed shapes that the lines create, but this means that they need to intersect where they overlap. I can’t figure out any way to do this, and I can’t create constraints at the points of intersection.

Is there a way to achieve this? Thanks for any tips.

I think what you want to do is split the lines where they intersect?

If true what be the purpose?

In Shapr sketches are used to extrude faces, currently we can’t extrude sketch lines since we dont have surface modeling.

So bit puzzled how you plan to utilize your pattern method in the end.

If you want to split lines, you could export the sketch as DXF open it in Vector Graphic Art program and split the intersecting lines.
