I have been trying to create sweeps or lofts which follow a 3d spline, but so far have only been able to use a 2d sketch. Seems there is no option to pick up the end point of a spline or curve and raise it’s axis. Shapes are only able to be created on a single axis. Is there a way around this, or is this on the feature roadmap? Seems like a basic feature that would be incredibly useful.

Here are my attempts.

1: Used revolve from the last face and raised the end face. Not a smooth transition.

2: Used sweep command on pathway, used split body, rotated end body, extruded back both sections to create a gap, loft command the two ends together. Not a smooth transition between bodies.

3: Sketched an arc, created a new sketch plane at the end, then drew a new curve on the end using another axis. Sweep command won’t work on the second curve on new axis.

So I have found a workaround, but it’s pretty janky. As shown in other threads you can create 3d curved pathway by extruding curves on the sides of a square body to make a 3d object, and then use the edge of that as the pathway to sweep. Selecting the Parallel To Path option in history will snap the sweep to the edge of the path.

A very poor workaround though. Hopefully Shapr3d will add making 3d pathways to the feature roadmap.

I agree with the sides of a square body to make a 3d object, and then use the edge of that as the pathway to sweep. Selecting the Parallel To Path option in history [ksupport](https://www.kdealer.com.co) will snap the sweep to the edge of the path.
