# Did Shapr get sold to Siemens?

I noticed when I load the new app it shows Siemens on the splash screen, and the app has a slightly different aesthetic. Did they get bought out?

Haha, thanks for the reply. So you were always affiliated with Siemens Parasolid? Sorry to seem like I’m prying but I just got worried the app would move on from the one I love. It happens a lot with software that makes an impression, they get taken over by a giant corp and are never as pro-consumer ever again!

Shapr3D is based on Parasolid since 2018. It is the industry leading geometry kernel, which guarantees quality and compatibility. I hope that you like the new visual identity!

I do! The app somehow seems even more responsive too, so I’m not sure if you’re harnessing Metal more or if it’s other optimisations. I recently downloaded it on my laptop too, but in all honestly I find it so much more intuitive with the Apple Pencil! Thanks for replying and keep up the good work.
