These little “tips” keep showing up in macOS and I can’t figure out how to disable them.

macOS 15.3 - Shapr3D version 5.771.0 (8028)

Currently, there’s no built-in option to disable tips in Shapr3D on macOS. However, we appreciate the suggestion and will share it with our team.

I would like to add an option: Show Meny Button Labels to _OFF_, even on a huge screen they get in the way blocking an operation.

Upvote for this. It’s just so incredibly frustrating. Why on earth would I want to see the _same damn tooltip_ indefinitely??

+1 for adding a setting to disable tips - they pop up in inconvenient places and once I have seen it I don’t need to see it again every time I use the program.

I’m surprised there isn’t a checkbox in the settings to disable this. Feels bad and gets in the way of work.

I agree it would be much more convenient to disable this in the settings, especially when installing the app not for the first time.

But it’s still not too hard to disable it by quickly watching those videos once.

That’s because you didn’t open them. Just watch (open) them once, and they won’t appear again.

Here’s the thing…I shouldn’t be forced to watch a video of every tip. The user should have the option to turn them off entirely w/o having to watch them. Additionally, I have a new computer, and now I have to go through this all again, and sometimes they DO come back even if I “watch” the little video. It’s a highly annoying pain point in the user interface that should be extremely easy for the developers to fix.

but I’ve changed 3 Mac minis, 2 iPads, and 1 MacBook over the last 2 years, and disabling these tutorials has never been a problem for me — it only takes a couple of minutes. After I quickly watched them, I never saw them again.

+100 I will not be renewing after this first year because these tips keep appearing in my way. It turns this into an entirely unserious cad program.

i quite like the tips showing, they are kinda convenient for me cause i am learning but i can see how they will eventually get annoying once i learn the tools. there should be a little checkbox in the settings or something to disable tutorials or something

On macOS frequently jumping between several instances of S3D on several machines I made a script for the array: com.shapr3d.shapr.userDefaults.tutorials.tutorialsArray
false-\>true in the plist. You can also easily edit it manually.

I dunno why these people are so adamant about forcing tips down our throats every chance they get. Just look at how many posts have there been about the awful introduction to see how the customer base feels about it

I find the people/genius behind S3D are extremely complicated, and what they react to and what not. Don’t get me wrong, I just love the ease and simplicity to create great stuff in S3D, fast!

I have finished creations/drafts in a fraction of the time in S3D compared to any other CAD, not always with precision but almost.

I started up on iPad as the only feasible option; nowadays 70% of all our work is done on macOS as the UX and power suit our work better. (But, personally, I still do some work on iPadOS, ad hoc, and benefit from it.)

But some basics are lacking, asked for over years, never show up. Dunno why. And I am not talking of such as complicated threads, unfolds, dependencies, or animation. Just some small improvements here and there.

Sometimes they remind me of the Jobs era (good and bad). ‘We know what is best for you,’ period.

I wish they would have the humble ear to the ground, only slightly firmer…

My 2¢

I have to agree. They still haven’t fixed the “Union & Named Body - Bug”. I realize it’s only been about 5 weeks since I submitted the ticket. But still, this bug is quite annoying!

> It used to be that when you select two bodies to make a union, the second body selected will retain the ‘name’. This no longer works. In this example I have a body named ‘base’. I wish to union a newly created body to the base. No matter what order these are selected, the resulting UNION no longer retains the name ‘base’. Bottom line, I have to do a rename every time I do a union in order to keep my Items List in order. Anyone else have this issue? I’m on an M4 iPad Pro with the latest S3D ve…
