as the subject states…why can’t we?! I work on many drawing that contain multiple items. right now the only way to export one part only is to duplicate the entire shapr file, then delete everything else leaving just the one part I want to export. If it’s already in isolate mode, your visual queue has already isolated just the context of that one part. so why can’t it be exported stand alone. this would be a MASSIVE time saver!

What export format are you using?

just tested it again…shapr file export definitely pulls everything NOT just the isolated item
(at least in the Windows version)

Hey ptegler!
Currently .shapr format is designed to save every item.
If you want to export isolated 3D objects separately, please select x\_t (parasolid, recommended), step or iges formats with “include hidden items” - OFF setting.

I just want to second that request. I am try to find info on Isolation since I have not used it before. I wish there was a Shapr3d doc explaining it for newbies. But I am not new to Shapr3d just to the Isolation tool. I think my project is just getting to big and I broke AR mode, sort of. So I wanted to move a few objects to a new Project.

that function works just fine Johngerard. When you highlight an object, at the lower left corner of the left menu, you’ll see a little magnifying glass looking icon. Click that and it will turn off all other objects not selected. you can then EXPORT that one selected object as an anything OTHER than a . shapr file
(step is best) Also simply selecting an object and right clicking on it (context menu) you’ll see an item for ‘isolation’

I’m working on an iPad pro and can only successfully export the isolated items ONLY if I select STEP file format. Exporting as a Shapr format does STILL export everything (including non-isolated bodies and sketches). Very frustrating.

That is quite logical because you’re exporting full project.

If you want to save only part use Parasolid or STEP formats.

Well, earlier comments suggest that there’s an option to turn off “include hidden objects” for Shapr files, when there is not.

Can you point me to that comment? I don’t see anyone saying it’s possible…

Just started using Shapr3D, and already this is a feature I would greatly appreciate. But more for a streamlined flow than anything else.

Way I see it working, is you Right-Click on the Body in the Item list, or select the body in 3D view and Right-Click, and these context menus could have an “Export Body…” option that allows exporting just that body.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes! It makes no sense not to have this feature. Would be extremely useful.

I agree that it would be amazin to be able to isolate a body or a sketch or both and have the option to export to another project.

In addition, if we forget to duplicate the document before, it’s shit!
Because autosave overwrites the base file
