# Extremely long computation time when creating a knurl profile

In the topic ([Problems with Boolean failing](https://discourse.shapr3d.com/t/problems-with-boolean-failing/17046/13)) which is about creating a knurl profile I ran into a problem regarding the time it takes to generate a knurl.

The system is computing for minutes for what I think is a relatively simple operation. At first I thought I should look for the problem with my Macbook, but @tayfun1907 has also experienced the same problem on another apple device.

Is this long calculation time normal, or is something going wrong here in the program? I tested the same operation in both the Shapr3D as well as the Shapr3D Beta (both the most recent version).

It’s normal, it’s an extremely complex operation, involving intersecting hundreds of complex spline surfaces and curves with each other.
