Hi guys, hope you are doing well.

I am trying to model a tube that flows across the 3 axis in a more “organic way”. But apparently that seems to be a really hard job here on Shapr3d. I found a few posts showing work-arounds but none actually seems to help me with what I want.

I’ve attached some images to help you understand the problem:

Image01 - An illustrative object portraying the desired result I want to achieve
Image 02 - An illustration of the curve I want to use as the “Sweep path” or “Extrude path”
Image 03 - A screen print of my attempt to build it on Shapr 3d (No success)

Hope someone can help me.

Thank you!

Here is the result I get using your front view and top view sketches.

I also wonder if there is a method that can loop around and above itself without a 3d Sketch?Like the Image 1 in more organic manner.

How did you do that curve? 😮

The curve is a simple revolve. The part you want to make, starting from the left, is a short straight extrusion followed by a revolve then another extrusion which includes a rotation about the center of the square.
(Last extrusion not shown)

Giving this some thought, I believe that **Sweep** is the way to go.

Here it is using **Sweep**. Hope this helps. Let me know if any questions.

You probably already know 3d Sketch is a missing feature, lot of other Shapr like software has it.

I made the curve in Rhino and saved it as IGES, but much prefer to do all of this on a Tablet and Mac and go back and forth thats the one of biggest benefit with Shapr.

A crossing makes it interesting (in S3D)…

Agreed @SCALEMODEL
I believe all this headache would be forgotten if we had this simple feature implemented 🤜🏾 🤛🏽
