# Help Needed: Assigning Different Colors to Connected Objects in Shapr3D and Bambu Lab

Hi everyone, I’m facing two issues with Shapr3D. First, I want to place objects on a flat surface and later color each one separately in other software. For example, a flat circle with an arrow on it, where I want to 3D print each in a different color. Right now, I’m slightly thickening the arrow to color it. Any better solution?
Second issue, when I import two connected squares into Bambu Lab, I can only color them as one. If I import them separately, I can color each, but they disconnect. Is there a way to keep them connected and still color them differently?
In the image I’ve shared, I’m showing an object in Bambu Lab that is completely flat but has different parts colored separately. I want to know how I can assign multiple colors, like two, three, or more, to an object in Shapr3D using sketches I draw on it. And when I export it in formats like 3MF or others, I want to ensure the colors stay intact when I import it into other software.

Hi,
You can assign several colors to 1 body (boolean union).
See the screenshot
I tested online several formats such as 3MF, STL, etc… but only one keep the colors after export and it is the STEP

to test… because I do not have Bamboo or others

Thanks for your response, I appreciate your help.
However, my main issue is how to assign colors to a flat surface I’ve designed using Sketch. Imagine I have an object and I want its surface to be flat.
The lines in the sketch are my design. For example, I want some of these lines to be black and others to be white.
In the image I’ve shared, you can see the design turned into a 3D surface and I’ve colored it. But what I did was make the black surface slightly thicker than the white surface so I could color them, because if they’re both on the same surface, I can’t assign different colors.
If you have any solutions for this…
