# Hinges help

Hello can some please explain how to open and close a finished pivot joint?  
So lets say I made a door… how do I open and close it?

Hi @JHancockT  
Select the part you want to move, then move the little gizmo to the center of the axis you want to pivot on. Then swing it wherever you want. 👍🏻
