# Hollow out head model

So with some boolean work and reverse engineering you should be able to take Alex STEP file and get it to do what you want.

Example take a box and subtract the head and subtract it again to get the original head model.

Key is its CAD format not STL mesh which is harder to work with in Shapr.

Thanks for all the help. I believe I’ve come up with a solution. Granted, I’m very new to this, but I started thinking in a different way about the inside of the head and decided to sculpt a model to subtract. This gave me so much more control over the relative thickness. Once that was done, I added a base, and now have a twist lock to enable me to remove to base to access the interior. Next steps are to modify the model for wiring, make embedded plates of electrically conductive filament (Protopasta), and the signal generator with external controls.

And, an added bonus is that Adam Gevaert (the originator of the head model) has granted me permission to use his design for educational purposes!
