Is there a simple way of creating a honeycomb pattern in Shapr3D?

I have been creating the patterns in a vector drawing app and then importing the shape as a DXF file. Seems like there must be an easier way within Shapr3D itself for this kind of geometry.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I can see a rough way of doing this with the Pattern tool, but it is not clear how the initial symmetry of the shapes can be established correctly. Once you have the shapes, this tool is great for propagating them across the surface.

I’ll keep experimenting with it and see if I can get a clean pattern using that method. Thanks.

I got decent results using the move/copy. Depends on how large a pattern you need.

Happy accident trying it.

Spacing need to be adjusted accordingly
