# How can I change the wideness of a profile?

Hey there,
I love working with shapr3d but I have a question that would save me lots of time…I am a cad newbie.
Imagine I have a metall profile and I want to reduce it from 80mm wideness to 60mm wideness but the material strongness shouldn’t change.
What would be the quickest way to do this?

It partly depends on the shape but in the example you have there you could do something like this

Here’s something that might work. Note that my example has a wall thickness of 4mm.
