# How to cut/paste layers from different workspaces

Hi there!

While designing, I have made some different workspaces with different designs, but time passed I need some layers to perform new design using schemes already done in different workspaces; like a DLL in programming. Thus, is there any way to “cut and paste” layers from different workspaces?

Unfortunately currently there isn’t. This is going to be one of the major updates in the next few months, we will add “component library” functionality, that will enable you to do this.  
Until then a workaround could be to export to .shapr dile format and import it to the other workspace.

Hi, has the components library been built yet? I cant work it out if it has and would find one very helpful. Thank you. Tom
