# How to select certain parts to export

so i have a 3D printer and i use shapr3d to model parts. But sometimes i make complicated parts and when i print them all i waste a lot of expensive filament on support structure so how do i select certain parts of a model to export as an stl?

It is possible to [isolate](https://support.shapr3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/9325439776924-Isolate) the selected part and export to STL or 3MF for 3D printing.

Make sure **not** to select “Include Hidden Items.”
