# How would you create this? Looking for a more elegant way

First you need to figure out how many rounded teeth you need, I’m sure you have certain number you want to fit. I just decided repeating pattern would be 4 degrees so that comes out to 90 pattern for a full circle.

Sketch, use guides and make circles fit within the guide area.

Trim off what you don’t need so you can repeat the pattern with circular pattern tool.

Pattern spacing is 4 degrees and 90 rotated items.

Thank you for your time and effort trying to help me understand this. I’ve managed to get so far but arrive at a point where I’m unable to delete certain sections of the sketch.

The video is probably painfully slow and uncomfortable for you to watch 🥲 but see what you think.

Why you’re trying to trim circle you’ll need later to make a pattern?

It’s not necessary for make a pattern if you’ll follow the instruction from @SCALEMODEL, but you don’t.

Although, you could use the origin point in your case. However, calculating the number of repetitions the way @SCALEMODEL does makes more sense.

I added more dimensions, so you can recreate/position correctly.

You have to angle the guides at 4 degrees wide so they create a seamless pattern 360 divide by 4 = 90 of those circular patterns.

Center point of the circles is 100mm away also check the dimension of the small and large circle.

If you get that wrong you can’t create a pattern that is 4 degree wide, it just won’t look seamless.

Doesn’t matter how you create it as long as all the dimensions and angles are followed exactly.

Once you can duplicate this I’m sure you can recreate it with your own dimensions and degrees.
