# I’m having export problems!?

I’m having problems exporting my files, I’m not sure if it is on my end or the other.  
When my file is opened in another program it is converting the file to millimeters and make the part no useable. Not sure what needs to be done.

In my experience, this is the slicing software doing this. I have to tell the slicing software what units to use. For example, I draw in inches, but when I export to my Zortrax 3D printer, I myst select mm to obtain the actual size of the object I want printed.
