# Issues with an error saying disconnected from graphics adapter since the latest update

Since the latest update of shapr3d a few days ago. I have been unable to run shapr due to a disconnect being caused to the graphics adapter at random points. This is an integrated CPU/GPU (i7-10700T + Intel UHD 630 graphics). I have tried everything I can do software side, including windows reset, trying every driver for that cpu/gpu, uninstalling and reinstalling and increasing the time given for the gpu to respond but it has made no difference. I would downgrade to an older version, but I need to be working on this across mulitple devices which I would rather not put at risk to malware etc. Is there anything that can eb done to resolve this or has anyone else had a similar issue.

I have the same problem, as I mentioned in another forum posting ( [Graphics Device Disconnected error messages](https://discourse.shapr3d.com/t/graphics-device-disconnected-error-messages/40477) ), so far with no responses. For what it’s worth, I had a LONG discussion with Google’s Gemini (a very capable artificial intelligence source) that recommended I upgrade my hardware, either by adding a powerful graphics card or migrating to a more advanced computer. While that may help because the issue may be related to specific graphics adapters (mine is also an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630), I am virtually certain that relatively antique hardware is NOT the ultimate source of the problem (likely some Shapr3D glitch) because with that old hardware I successfully worked on thousands of different projects, some so complex that Shapr3D became glacially slow yet did not experience the “Graphics Device Disconnected” error message that I had numerous times yesterday and today but only a couple of other times previously in several years of use — and never related to the complexity of my project.

Corroborating that, I also had the “Graphics Device Disconnected” error message occur yesterday with a very simple design (a single screw). Notably, that simple project _and_ the vastly more complex one I added to yesterday were both ones that worked flawlessly in the past, with the complex one a project requiring extensive developmental time, throughout which I never experienced that “Graphics Device Disconnected” error message. So, to make a long story short, I’m virtually certain this problem originated from some Shapr3D code change.

Also for what it’s worth, throughout the years I’ve used Shapr3D, I had to switch from one computer to another several times because of insurmountable problems that manifested in one computer but not the various ones I used as backups. Shapr3D’s technical support was very patient in helping me work through one of those difficulties but ultimately was not successful, so I had to switch to using another computer that suddenly died (that problem was not related to Shapr3D), compelling yet another switch or two. Roughly a year or so later, I had an epiphany about how to solve the Shapr3D problem on my preferred computer and successfully implemented that, after which it worked A-OK for many months, until yesterday.

You are not alone. I cant even open and view my saved models at this point. I get the error almost immediately

I have never had the error come up saying “disconnected from Graphics adapter” until Sunday march 8th 2026. It must have crashed 100 times in 5 hours. I have been happily using and paying for Shapr3d for almost 3 years. I was on a laptop with windows 11. I figured it might be my laptop. I came into work to use my PC with windows 10, same error popping up constantly crashing the program. I read an error fix saying to update the GPU, which I can not do. I have made extremely more complicated projects in the past with no issue (just slow). This error needs to be fixed immediately. I need some kind of fix very soon, before I find another program to pay for that works.

Добрый день! Недавно начал пользоваться этой программой. Пользуюсь бесплатной версией программы, пока что не активировал даже пробную версию и она мне нравится, подумывал даже купить на месяц, поучиться. НО !!! Как так может быть ? Неделю решать вопрос с совместимостью встроенных видеокарт?… Кто-то не дописал код, бывает, все мы люди и ошибки не исключены, в чем проблема откатить назад ПО (сомневаюсь что у Вас не осталось предыдущей версии ПО!!!), что бы люди которые используют программу не страдали ??… Как по мне решение вопроса отвратительное, наплевательское отношение.

@ZsofiGy Has there been any update for a resolution to this issue yet? We pay far too much money for this program for it to sit unusable.

Nothing as far as I know, for now I’ve been using an awful old pc with a half broken WiFi adapter so it takes 4 hours to sync anything so I can do it on my home pc.

Version 26.40 fixed the problem for me: after a couple of days of work, no more “graphics device disconnected” error messages.
