In Fusion lofting is a quick, easy and intuitive operation. For example, I’m trying to loft the top of a guitar. I have a horisontal plane, and a curve at 90 degrees (like in the picture). In Fusion it is simply a matter of selecting the three planes

 ![lofting guitar top in S3d](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex002/uploads/shapr3d/original/3X/0/c/0cd27fa6c1011c76ad2ebe5d7235d140f1752521.png)
. And it just lofts. But this doesn’t happen in S3D. “Lofted body couldn’t be created” Why not? What do I need to do?

Please share your sketch. Want to test myself. I really doubt it will work in fusion too.

Quickly recreated your sketch and tried it in F360:

The result is totally expected.

The Fusion “Tutorial” is only 15 minutes long. Take a watch. I just want to be able to recreate the outcome in S3D

I followed the tutorial and get exactly the same result in Shapr3D. The only difference that Shapr3D doesn’t support surfaces, so it doesn’t have such thing as surface loft. But that’s not a big problem in this case because you need a body as a result, not a surface.

But your profile on the first picture totally different and it won’t work in F360 as well. (To be precise, it will technically work, but it will give a completely incorrect result. Shapr3D simply refuses to do it right away.)

OK - I need some help here…
Step one:
Select the outside edge of the top
Step 2:
Select the edges of the raised part
Step 3:
Loft?

To loft you need to select face (or sketch filling) not edges.

Everything exactly the same as in F360. Just different interface.

Alex already mentioned it above, the shape of your guitar is more complex so it will not loft following the Fusion tutorial.

Tutorial is a traditional guitar, its basic oval shape without pointier ends, different approach would be needed. I would look for electric guitar tutorials. You can also search the forum and see what others have done.

I think electric guitar has flat surface on the back, so loft isn’t needed at all.

Also think violin tutorial could be useful as well.
