Hi, still fairly illiterate with shapr but loving the learning curve. Question: is there a way of measuring (and showing the figures) the space between two faces. Eg is it possible by tapping on 2 faces of opposing bodies that would quickly show the measurement of the space in between?
Perhaps there is a way and It seems that it should be an easy hit?

Will

Hey @Willis, welcome to the community. I am rally glad that you enjoy your first steps with Shapr3D.

Measurements appear in the bottom of the screen for selected objects, including faces:

Thanks and that is a help. Screenshot of an example that would be useful if i could instantly see the m2 of ‘dead space’

Yeah, I see. At this time one possible way is to create a sketch by projecting those faces to a plane. If you select the enclosed cross-section, Shapr3D will tell you the area of the selected surface

I am not able to get the measured angle between two faces. I select the two faces but no measurements appear at the bottom of screen. I select measure tool and it only calculates the area. What am I doing wrong?

That can happen when two surfaces have different angles in different places.

For example:

</div>

Ah, thanks. is there a way to manually measure angles on planes. I would not know how to go about this.

I see the issue, you can’t get the measurement because if it’s a roof your roof is warped so even if you can manually get the angle it will be all different based on where you get it from. I’m working on a house so that the comparison I think of.

More extreme example, I used the Perpendicular Edge Plane to draw the angle, since it’s warped angles are all different.

In my case the surface is not warped but the planes don’t have parallel edges. Thanks for letting me know about creating a plane(perpendicular to edge) to draw onto so that I could measure the edge manually. This is exactly what I needed to know.
