I have been attempting, with little progress, to model a bike frame lug in Shapr3d.

 ![frame lug](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex002/uploads/shapr3d/original/3X/e/9/e96c0220a157055b46d8b61c4a7a0547afcf8e7b.jpeg)

I feel that it is impossible at the moment. but I would like to know if I am just missing something obvious.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Was this not what you are trying to do?

Make a cylinder Create a block and project the circle onto it Make holes in the shape of the part that protrudes Rotate the block to get the angled taper Subtract the block and cylinder [PostClamp.shapr](https://discourse.shapr3d.com/uploads/short-url/a1Jn3fYQpIjtw8QiRsCYlOSx8N8.shapr) (50.0 KB) Or use the process Tigermike shared but instead of rotating flat to the cylinder rotate it at an angle.

I drew a couple of different examples. The red is from the message I sent above. The silver is one I free-styled to demonstrate how you might approach the problem. The silver is roughly based on [this](https://www.bikeforums.net/framebuilders/1217494-cad-templates-cutting-lugs.html) I found from a search for bike lug.

Below is a Shapr3D project where I left the sketches intact so you can see how to do it. Here is a Shapr3D [render](https://collaborate.shapr3d.com/v/CEQATsww5x9y97eePAUFj) of the project

Hey @Yepher ,
Exactly was I needed. This is a great solution. I love it.
Thank you very very much.
I will sit down and play around with the concept tomorrow.
Brilliant, thanks a million!!
