I’m attempting to model a molded, plastic door trim piece from a Toyota Tundra. I have created a sketch outline of the part, and extrusions for the one end of the piece, and for the sides. But I am having trouble creating the smooth transition from the end to the sides around curved 90 degree corners. The profile of the end extrusion is different from the side extrusion, and I want to blend them together smoothly around the corners. I tried using Loft around the curve to the side profile sketch, but I keep getting errors about it not being a valid operation. Appreciate any ideas!

FWIW, here’s one approach using extrusion exclusively. I eyeballed your trim piece and made the initial extrusion with 5° draft. The one area not per your piece is the left hand side at the opening. The width of that part looks fine however the top profile does not match. With a little more work I believe that peak feature can be done. Other’s will offer a doable solution. Good luck.

Also getting one of these contour gauge would be useful.

You could use it to build your loft profile, for your purpose the metal one has higher accuracy.

@TigerMike - Thanks for putting that together. It looks pretty straightforward the way you did it. I may have been overcomplicating it. Maybe best to start simple and then tweak the design later. I couldn’t see the commands you used in the video, but I will try to use some of your ideas.

@SCALEMODEL - I’ve been thinking about getting one of those gauges - it would help to get measurements in some tricky situations. Your puppy seems to be a cooperative test subject!
