# New sketch dimensions alter underlying sketch

When I create a new line on top of an existing sketch and change its dimensions it alters the underlying sketch. Is there a way to draw on top of another sketch, using it for snapping etc, but when I enter the exact dimensions, it wont shift the underlying sketch to match the new dimensions?
