Hi everyone

Can you tell me how to make a sphere with polygons holes?

 ![Снимок экрана 2025-09-09 в 15.47.54](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex002/uploads/shapr3d/original/3X/0/4/042c387695cb6877e5f6b7df1ecf12d2f126e472.jpeg)

The task is to make different spheres with holes in the form of polygons from triangles to octagons. There may be spheres with different types of polygons, but I want to have a clear repeatable pattern.

I tried to do it according to this principle: [Making holes in a sphere - #29 by PEC](https://discourse.shapr3d.com/t/making-holes-in-a-sphere/5420/29) but in the end, artifacts are obtained and except for the angle of 0, nothing fits ((

I would like to be able to create such spheres with different patterns.

Please help me understand and simplify the process.

Maybe there are other ready-made tools that can help me?

Thanks!

Check out Geometry nodes in Blender.

Or you need to do what PEC described, use the hexagon area to insert more hex or other patterns. I tried that method to create golfball pattern.

Thank you, I will study it.

I was hoping that it would be possible to do something similar in Shapr3D without Blender.

Blender would be faster but if you want to manually build it check out Solidworks tutorials.

The approach would be similar in Shapr.

Wow!

That’s cool. Not easy, but cool)) I will study. Thanks!
