# Plywood’s edges

I make furniture from plywood. It would be great if at some point the plywood edges were available in the model visualization

Just model the plywood layers 😀

The closest I can get for now is to use the veneer wood on the top/bottom faces and something like sanded bamboo on the edge faces. Increase the scale to ~2 and roughness ~2 on the bamboo. It looks more like pressed board but at least it helps to indicate that the material is plywood if you have to stay within Shapr3d.

I tried it.

Projected pattern of linear lines and pushed down very slightly so I can easily select them in VIZ MODE.

👍 looks way better (and is fully customizable) than the workaround. Still tedious and will not track well with model changes. Let’s hope for an intelligent plywood material.
