Hey everyone, in the example below, I want to project the triangle onto the angled face of the cylinder but the projection is off center — is this expected behaviour? And if so, is there a way to define the axis along which the projection happens?

Thanks in advance!

There is currently no way to modify parameters of the Projection, currently projection is based view from the slanted surface to your sketch.

Note as you increase the distance of the projection deviates but you can see the logic why.

What you are looking for is Replace Face, extrude the triangle a bit to use Replace Face.

If you just need the sketch on the cylinder you can select the edges and project it on the face.

Thanks, the Replace Face function and then projecting the edges did exactly what I was looking for!
