# Resizing items that are drawn

I need help figuring out how to resize either 2D (before extrusion) or 3D items (after extruding). When importing the image I needed to trace I wasn’t given the opportunity to enter the exact dimensions and I can’t find anywhere to adjust them after tracing either. I need my final object to be a specific size and there is no place to enter a dimension that I can find.

Draw a line on the plane where you’ve imported the image. Set the line’s length to the dimension you want to match. Select the image and use the Move/Rotate and Scale tools to match it up with the line.
You can also use the Scale tool on your sketch or extruded body, but it’s best to size and position the reference image correctly first.
