# Scale a Sketch

Is it possible to scale an 2d sketch? I know I can create an extrusion from the sketch and scale the body but I would like to be able to scale a sketch in order to project it onto a body.

Hi Mark, sketches can also be scaled also using the Scale tool - I hope this helps you achieve the wanted result for the projection

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed. I was trying to do it in the 2d view and could not figure it out.

Doesn’t always work 🙄  
I’m way into a sketch right now that I was trying to scale so that I could project it onto another object but, it tells me it can’t scale because constraints couldn’t be solved on a sketch that I don’t remember putting constraints on it the first place.

Shapr3d does a lot of Auto-Constraining. You can turn it off though, if you want to.
