# Separate selection tool from editing (line/arc)

**The problem that this feature will solve:**

_Quick selection without jumping out of selection mode to draw._

**Brief description of the outcomes that you expect from this feature:**

_I used a lot of vector design software (Affinity and Adobe), which usually have a separate tool/mode for selecting. Please also consider adding the Pencil Pro double-tap feature, which usually jumps back and forth between selection and editing. Add lasso selection, which is a great help for selecting complex geometry-specific points/lines._

**What can’t you achieve without this feature?**

_It’s slowing me down when you do not hit an edge/point and start to draw a line in sketch mode._
