We have a design, picture a bunch of shapes sitting on a table. We want all the objects to be sitting FLAT on the table (so that none are proud (hovering above the table)… and we want none of them too low (where they would be sitting “through” the table… we want them all exactly ON the table.

Is there an easy way to do that?

Thanks,
Pete

Hi Pete, if you tap on the bottom surface of the objects and also tap on the top surface of the table, the vertical distance between them is displayed at the bottom of the workspace.

- Double tap on the object to select it
- Tap on the arrow towards the direction of the top of the table
- Then input the displayed vertical distance dimension into the Numpad to have the object sit on the table as shown below:

I’ll also report back once he’s done with class and can try these… all I know is, this thing has to get to the CNC shop, and he’s behind!

Hi Pete, we have just released the new 3d alignment tool feature with the 3.52 app version 🥳
This will allow you to simply tap on the body faces to get them snapped together.

Simply update the app and here are more details about the feature:

> [@iPad - 3.52 - Align tool](https://discourse.shapr3d.com/t/new-release-3-52-align-tool/9343):

> Good morning, everyone! We’re introducing our brand-spanking new Align tool: with this new feature, you can align 3D bodies in your design space in a split second, without juggling a handful of other tools (like Translate). With very little effort, you can transform and rearrange objects any way you want. Align is simple and smart. Just select the faces, edges, or snap points of 3D objects that you want to align, and the tool will take care of the rest for you. Once you’ve …

This was marked solved but never was. None of the below mentioned solutions actually solved your problem. And now 5 yrs later I have the same question.

Hi,
For me, Translate is the best tool to do that easily.

I agree this problem has NEVER been solved in Shapr 3D that is no way to select multiple object and have them align with plane or another object. that major deficiency in Shapr3d. makes the software incredibly painful to use when working with multiple disconnect but related objects. like an assembly for a something that needs to be 3d printed so all items must have the same reference bottom point.

this needs to be fixed and in a coherent way that is not obtuse and takes multiple convoluted steps to do.

this another example of the designers of shapr3d failing to follow common user interface paradigms when have been used in software for decades.

again, no response from shapr devs regarding this basic functionality ☹ is anyone there?
