I do sheetmetal work for cars/motorcycles/aircraft/etc. When making panels we use something called a buck, which is basically a wooden skeleton that shows the surface contours to check out parts against. (I’ve attached photos of a motorcycle fuel tank buck for reference) I am looking for a way to import 3d scans of parts, and then slice the scan into cross sections to make files for the wooden buck stations. I believe I can slice the scanned object using construction planes, but is there a way to create a drawing for the cross sections without having to manually trace the contour of the sliced object? Or would I have to essentially trace the sliced object onto the construction planes? Thanks in advance!

I don’t think there is. I don’t think there is a workaround. Your scan does not translate into the same native information (faces, edges etc) that Shapr uses to make bodies.

Thanks for the reply. I had a feeling that was the case. It’s not too terrible tracing the surfaces on simple parts, but some panels get pretty complex. I may need to look into something else.
