Is there a way to convert mesh to be exported?

Hi,
Converting a mesh file to STEP format is not a simple thing to do. There are some software that provide a solution to convert mesh to CAD, but what they do under the hood is replace the mesh poligons with tiny planar surfaces, then merge them together to form a solid body. As a result, you will not get back the curved details the original CAD model had, but it may be simpler to work with the result in a CAD software.
The proper way of _converting_ mesh files to CAD formats is called reverse engineering. Most of the time the process cannot be fully automated, however there are some [software](https://www.3dsystems.com/software/geomagic-design-x) that helps finding relevant details on the mesh.
