# STL Dimension

Hey I can Import STL files, create drawing views but cannot dimension. Why?

Hey Karim,  
That is because you need a solid-body in order to place dimensions - STL is a mesh - no body!  
STL is okay for additive manufacturing - and nothing else!  
Sorry, but thats the undeniable truth. 😉
