I wanted to now if there is a way to export a imported stl to Step.
I tried but could not do it(probably because the stl is only for reference)
If there is a workaround please let me know

Hi Michel,

You can try to convert your STL to STEP prior to importing it to Shapr3d. I have had reasonable success with this web based tool:

> **[STL to STEP Converter Online - AnyConv](https://anyconv.com/stl-to-step-converter/)**
>
> AnyConv is a five-star ⭐ STL to STEP converter ⭐ ️Change stl to step format in batch. Fast and free. No software installation required.

If your model is too complex, it cannot do the conversion. Also, the conversion is not “smart” in that something like a fillet is presented as a myriad of triangles; nonetheless it can be useful.

Good luck!
