# Trouble creating ring with Sweep and scale

Hey Everyone - I’m trying to create a ring shape using the sweep tool, sweeping along half of a circular path (representing the ring’s circumference). I want the ring to have a graduated thickness, so I mirrored the shape and scaled the bottom half. (See attached photos.)

The problem is, it’s warping the shape and creating sharp, pointy edges. Is there a way to avoid this distortion? And keep the shape totally flush?

You can use loft and instantly get result like this

Tbh I tried lofting and mine didn’t look anything like that lol. I must be missing something - any chance you could share a screen recording of what you did?
