Hi,

I am having trouble coming up with a way to union 2 bodies but remove only the intersecting items. I think I have the modeling incorrectly but can’t find an easy way around it.

The 2nd object was created using a loft and I am trying to union that object onto the 1st object, and remove the intersecting faces. I have attached the shapr export and the pic below (blue outline) is what I am trying to remove. The final object needs to be a union of the 2 bodies without the blue outlined face.

I’ve been trying things but keep getting partial results. I am definitely missing something.

If I understand correctly. A few ways to deal with this. But with odd shapes - I typical project onto a plane that is parallel to the shape needed to be cut. Use the resulting sketch to hollow out.

Ah, very interesting..I’ll give that a whirl. Looks promising

Thanks.

That worked great! I did a subtract and save the bodies then projected to get the following.

Yeah, that looks better. 😅
