# Turn off select-through for an area selection?

How do I perform an area selection on a wall without the other side of the wall being selected? I’m using the right to left select method. I’ve never been able to figure that out and it’s driving me batty, especially with imported converted meshes and their myriad of triangles.

It depends on the form of the model. Most of the time you can make a selection from the side like on a video below.
