# Union Boolean design change?

Here’s I’m extruding an addition to a simple body. If I recall, it used to be that the result was a union and one would have to select **New Body** , **Intersect** or **Subtract** from the gizmo if needed. That no longer is the case. It also does not work when selecting **Union** from the gizmo. I have to go to **Tools** , select **Union** then select all 3 bodies. Is this a design change?

Same here Mike. Seems like a bug if you can’t even select union and have it union.

I recall a post about this where it was intentional. There was no explanation why the Union option is still available during extrusion.

I’ve experienced this recently and thought it wasn’t working because I was updating a year old model.
