# Visualize Copper Wire

I’ve recently discovered my workspace crashes permanently when I have too many copper wire coils in the design. I need to instead visualize copper wire to simulate said coils. What would be a good way to accomplish this?

Hi,

Crashing like this is usually a sign of running out of available memory (RAM), so the solution is either to use less of said coils, so the device can handle the load, or to switch to a device with more memory available (e.g. higher end iPad, a Mac or a Windows PC with more RAM, though the latter doesn’t have Visualization yet).

Alright awesome. Thanks for the assist. Guess I’ll invest in the Trashcan we have where I work. Boss is actually going to let me borrow it for a while. I’m hoping I don’t have to switch apps. Shapr3d is so much better for beginners like me

Wouldn’t happen to be able to point me in the direction of using visualization or another method of mimicking copper wire wrappings would you? I figured I could just project lines on the body of the coil but not 100% sure how I can project a spiraling line around the body then just paint it copper

Hi,  
I’m not sure about the initial shape, but placing some filleted cylinders or boxes may have enough details to act as a simplified coil while requiring way less memory for Visualization.

In the meantime, if you could [send us](https://support.shapr3d.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) the Shapr3D design and the hardware specs you are working with, that would be super helpful

I opened up a ticket. I’m on the iPad Pro 5th Gen which I’ve learned just doesn’t cut it for RAM on my design. Hopefully a 2013 Trashcan has the horse power
