# Why need apple pen/keyboard + mouse

Why do we need a apple pen or keyboard and mouse, can’t you just use your fingers to draw?

Because the pen tells the iPad where you are drawing, vs your palm of your hand, or other accidental touches. The iPad would not know which input to take.

Problem is Shapr allows fingers to manipulate the view and movement within. The pen is required for precise manipulation of elements. Separating the 2 would be difficult and cause too many problems. The rewards of using the pen is well worth the price! It is intuitive to the way many people work.
