Looking for freelance designers
Hello sir, I design a lot on Shapr3D as a hobbyist, I offer to work for you for free so I can get more experience.
I’m freelance designer and it’s my job. I can’t hear that kind of bullshit.
Hi Detecin,
You should be more specific in your research, you would have more answers.
What kind of mission?
How long will it take?
Geographical location?
Home work possible?
Pay, salary?
etc…
If you are serious, I wonder if you would be interested in creating a Shapr3D file of a specific device used in hobby woodworking. It should be rather simple; however, I am a newbie to Shapr3D and don’t have the expertise, presently.
This is a device used to “vacuum” sawdust and wood chips at the drill press. Dimension are 16 1/4” long x 12 3/4” wide…and features a 4” OD dust port. I want to print this on my Bambu Lab P1S printer…and, also, to share it with other hobbyist woodworkers who might like to have this device. The preferable file format is 3MF, but others will do if the file can be imported into my Bambu Lab slicer.
Please advise.
If you looking for someone to make this, there is probably a few people who would be happy to create this simple design for free if it is open sourced.
You should ulpload shots from all sides and measure at least one straight edge , also measure the most important parts that to connect to your vacuum and table ( demensions that have to correct )
If you do that I am sure someone will reply with a 3mf.
Hi Larry
I use Shapr3D and Fusion360 for similar workshop based tools and jigs. I could do this for you and send the files but the size of the dust shoe is larger than the bed of your Bambu Lab P1S (256mmx256mmx256mm) so you would probably be best to reduce the size of your shoe. Making a multi part shoe is an option but significantly more complicated and would probably not be as strong. Another question, what filament do you want to use?

Great catch on the size of the sawdust hood. I didn’t even think about that, but it makes plain common sense.
So, I’m thinking that the “shoe” could be resized to maybe 9” x 9” (228mm x 228mm, approximately), unless that is still too large for what you think makes sense.
I’m not fond of the idea of a multi-part shoe. And, yes…strength is a chief concern.
Regarding filament, I think PLA would be fine, since it would be used indoors and would not be concerned with extended times in direct sunlight. If you think PETG is a better choice, I yield to your suggestion. I have other filaments, but have used only PLA and PETG so far.
Thanks for considering this. I promise that my goal is to get proficient designing with Shapr3D, but with the metaphorical “irons in the fire” I have right now (one major concern is my wife’s dementia and I am the sole caregiver), I imagine it will be quite a while before I’m sufficiently trained to design this.
Until next time…

I’ve sent you a pm to invite you to join a project team.
WOW! That design you created looks AH.MAY.ZING!!
I exported a .3mf file to my Mac desktop and will print it just as soon as I finish replacing the hotend and nozzle in my Bambu P1S. You’re amazing!
I’ll let you know if it works okay ASAP. My wife has dementia and I am the sole caregiver, so it may take me a “minute” to get back to the garage shop to make this happen. Please bear with me.

Now I want to see, can you post images of the design etc.
The suspense is killing me too
