Hey folks. I’ve been slicing this mesh model up to make a body for my RC car. I took too much off of this panel a while back so I can’t just undo it. I need to add about 2mm to the flat side. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to accomplish this.
Hi,
Have you tried Offset face tool?
I don’t think that will work. I would use the back to sketch surface to trace over and extrude a the shape and then add it. OR just reproduce it in Shapr.
Totally agree. Mesh is not usable other than simple boolean union or subtract. Others will suggest using other SF to work with mesh. Simple enough shape to reproduce as solid body in S3D.
The cheapest way to do this is by using FreeCad and a plug-in/Workbench called 3D Printing Tool. There you can make a solid out of the mesh and save as STEP. Works ok for not to complicated meshes. The end result is not very clean as in everything is faceted.
Just trim/split off a small part of the back, use scale to make it bigger than 2mm and trim/split 2mm worth.
