Here is a fully mechanical chin holder, recently, has been filed for a patent, designed by a professional-health doctor after receiving requests from a number of companies for their labor while working. I did the 3D-modeling in Shapr3D, then 3Dprinted.

Very nice design. Is this similar to the chin holder that is used to stabilize the head, say during an eye exam?

It’s used to stabilize the head during working on machines in factories, dentistry for dentists, etc, but the whole apparatus are these and it is fixed within the limits of chest and chin. Different from eye examination apparatus.
