Difficulty with sweep tool, making a frame

Hi, I’m trying to basics of Shapr. Thought I would try and make a frame shape - have a rectangle, and drew a freehand cross section for the trim. But I can’t seem to use the sweep!
Does anyone know what this error is? It can’t close the path - “failed to handle non-g1 path”

I am really getting to grips with the basics but am frustrated already :slightly_frowning_face:

Video of my attempt -

So I guess your problem is that it does not sweep around the last edge. Correct?
I’m not 100% sure but I think it will do this when you start your sweep in some distance away from the corner of the rectangle.

Here’s an example I shared a couple of years ago.

I’m having the same issue, getting the error “Failed to handle non-G1 path”. What does this error mean? I’m having a lot of difficulty troubleshooting this.
Thanks,
Eric

Hi,

the problem is that the profile to sweep is placed exactly at one corner of the path, so the tool has difficulties to end the profile.
If you move the profile slightly to the left, it will work.
If you look at @TigerMike exemple, le profile is placed in the middle of one side.

(I’m not saying this is normal or expected behavior, it’s just how it works at present :grinning:)

Video shows the issue at first and then the expected result after moving slightly the profile.
